Review by hotel critic
At Hotel Angermeyer, I enjoyed a culinary journey that truly encapsulated the essence of the Galapagos. The Isla Grill Restaurant presented an enticing menu, featuring fresh seafood and local flavors, including the delightful Gus Octopus and ceviche. My morning began with coffee on the sun-terrace, where I found myself in the company of blue-footed boobies and Darwin's finches, creating a serene backdrop for my breakfast. Dining by the water was a highlight; the restaurant's ambiance fostered a connection with nature as I observed the marine iguanas basking on the rocks and the local wildlife splashing nearby. While the breakfast was consistently enjoyable, I found my lunch and dinner experiences to be somewhat less compelling in terms of value, with prices being notably high. On a memorable excursion to Rancho Primicias, I was able to interact with the famed giant tortoises, enhancing my stay with a unique experience. Although the hotel does provide convenient access to water taxis and local attractions, it is the culinary offerings that linger in my memory. Hotel Angermeyer is an excellent base for exploring the Galapagos while indulging in the region's distinctive gastronomy.
